I am deeply honored and thankful to the Cape Cod Chronicle and award-winning Editor Tim Wood for running a feature article on me and my work, and to Greg O'Brien for writing it.

The Cape Cod Chronicle is an absolutely stellar, award-winning publication, and I am honored to be included in its pages. The article is thoughtfully, skillfully and generously written by Greg O'Brien, award-winning and sought-after journalist, author, editor, publisher, speaker, script writer and film producer. Greg is the author of numerous critically acclaimed publications including ”On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s,” a personal journey, an international award winner. His documentary about his family’s journey with Alzheimer’s recently won a Los Angeles Press Club Emmy. O’Brien wrote the script and co-produced.
To be the subject of anything written by Greg is an honor and working with him was a true pleasure.

I am additionally thankful to so many along my journey who have taught, supported, inspired and helped me to do what I do. Most importantly, I am grateful to my daughter Bella and my dad Ron, my greatest inspirations, supporters, and deepest loves. They are both amazing individuals. I am proud of them and blessed by them every day.

JEFF'S MUSIC BIO⁣⁣GRAPHY

Jeff Thibodeau is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, harmonica, bass, hand percussion) whose music draws on his personal experiences with the universal themes of love, relationship, spirituality and connection to nature. Spanning multiple genres, including rock, folk, pop, funk, blues and reggae, his style can be most aptly described as dynamic, melodic, heartfelt, meaningful and inspirational. Whether performing solo or backed by a full band, Jeff is known for his engaging stage presence, authenticity, pure sound, strong vocals, expressive instrumentals and fun, uplifting vibe. Jeff’s music reflects his appreciation for both the spiritual and the sensual and the belief that all life’s experiences contain a positive message, even when difficult. His songs are conceived by a powerful feeling, rooted in solid melodies, given life by heartfelt lyrics and meaning by expressing the inherent beauty of life.

Jeff released his debut EP/album of original songs entitled “I Sing Life’s Praises” on June 1, 2025, recorded and engineered by local musician Brian Sances, owner of Eastern Screech Recording Studio, who also plays on the record with Jeff. Amalia Ververis contributed sweet and soulful backing vocals.

Jeff was an accomplished piano player in his teens, picking up the guitar, singing and songwriting in college. He has played with multiple

bands and now focuses his creative efforts on solo work, performing regularly at venues throughout the region, including Ocean Edge Resort’s Bayzo’s Pub and the Chatham Wayside Inn’s Wild Goose Tavern.

Jeff’s musical influences include John Denver, Jason Mraz, James Taylor, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Jack Johnson, Chris Cornell, Neil Young, Bob Marley, Jackson Browne, Billy Joel, and classic and contemporary rock bands such as Journey, U2, 3 Doors Down, Pearl Jam, and the Eagles.

I wrote 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥, the first single off my upcoming EP entitled “I Sing Life’s Praises” scheduled for release later this Spring, many years ago while living in a small adobe house in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I had traveled west from my home on Cape Cod and it was my first time living in the oasis known as the Land of Enchantment, a particularly inspirational and transformative time in my life. One cold winter’s night I was perched in front of the woodstove, listening to the crackling breath of the licking flames, thankful for the comforting warmth of the fire…given life by the 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥…and listening to it blow outside...and this song was born.⁣

⁣

I have always gravitated towards the spiritual realm, and although my understanding and practice has changed over the years, I feel a consistently deep connection to, and reverence for, the infinite source of all things (whatever name, traditions or teachings we ascribe to it) and spiritual endeavors are a major source of meaning and inspiration in my life.⁣

⁣

Many spiritual traditions recognize the natural element of air, often experienced as 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥, to be associated with the spirit, or breath, of life… a concept that deeply resonates with me. So much so, in fact, that in that same time frame I adopted a spiritual name for myself, Kaze, the Japanese word for 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥, and designed and got a tattoo to infuse my physical body with the spiritual energy and meaning of the 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥.⁣

⁣

Just as importantly, I feel equally connected to nature, especially Cape Cod, and to this earthly life we live. I celebrate the beauty of all life, our relationships to each other and all creatures, and the infinite opportunities for exploration, learning, love, growth and enjoyment, despite life’s challenges…. and sometimes because of them. I deeply value the natural world in all its beauty, and strive to engage and protect it. I seek and find great pleasure in exploring all that the world has to offer and the unique opportunities that we are given to do so in our soulful and sensual bodies and minds. I honor the body-mind as a gift and a sacred temple with a primary purpose of bringing love into this earthly realm with every thought and action, bridging “heaven” and earth. I believe in uniting, not dividing, our spiritual, mental, emotional and physical selves.⁣

⁣

The 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥 enlivens all the physical senses. We can see it blowing in the leaves and in peoples’ hair, giving life to flames, lifting white caps on waves, and billowing sails. We can feel its warm summer breeze on our faces and its cold winter bite on our cheeks and fingertips. We can smell and taste its salty seaside air, a tasty meal, and the many wonderful aromas and flavors of life. It carries the sounds of loved ones’ voices, music, wildlife, and of itself. It is the invisible sea within which we all live and breathe and through which we are always connected to each other. The lives of every living creature, and of the earth itself, depends upon it.⁣

In the years since I wrote my love song to the 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥, it has mostly lived in hibernation, waiting to fly into the light. That time is now.

𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥 will be released April 1, 2025 in audio format on all major streaming platforms. I will also be producing a music video and sharing that on social media and my website. I had help producing this song (and the entire EP) from an extremely talented local musician/sound engineer, as well as a soulful songstress, who will be receiving my praises in later posts.⁣

Hi! My name is Jeff Thibodeau and I perform original and cover songs throughout the Cape Cod and Boston area in the rock/pop/funk/folk/blues music genres as a solo, duo or band act.

I work primarily as lead singer, rhythm guitarist, harpist (harmonica), and occasional bassist and keyboardist.

I was trained in classical piano as a child. In college I bought my first guitar so I could carry my instrument with me and started writing songs. Since then, I've continued singing, songwriting and playing originals and covers with/for the following local professional musicians, bands and venues:

The Meaning Behind the Music

Music is a universal means of celebrating and sharing the magic of life. At the simplest level, it just feels good to play, hear, and feel it. It's pure enjoyment and we all love and appreciates it at some level. Music is part of us.

On a deeper level, song is a voice of the soul that connects people with each other and the world. We "sing our song" when we follow our hearts and intuition, doing what we are meant to do, and being who we are meant to be with passion. Like the endless birdsong that circles the earth with the breaking sunrise, I wish for my music to be an ongoing, flowing expression of what it is that gives me life, a reflection of who I am and how I experience the world. I wish that we may all find the music of our souls and sing our songs in harmony with everything we are and do.

Some of the themes I work with in my songwriting involve the fundamentally interdependent polarities of life..... pain and pleasure, earth and heaven, body, and spirit, holding on and letting go..... It is in the balanced center-point of these opposites that health, happiness, harmony, and fulfillment are found. I believe that love is the essence of all things, and that every action and event has a divine purpose and meaning. My lyrics carry a positive message even when depicting a painfully human experience and songs usually emerge when I am feeling at one with myself and the world.

I earned a Master's Degree from Cornell University and have over 25 years of professional experience working with the earth.
